A loud clap of thunder echoed across the dark grey sky followed by a snap of lightning only a few minutes later. His gaze shifted off to the north, eye balling the ominous dark storm that threatening to put a damper on their hunt today. A cool breeze scent chills down his spine as Maverick shoved his hands deeper into his pockets, broad shoulders squeezed closer together. “I don’t think we have much time today Azula,” the man mumbled in a low tone, “I think that storm is moving quickly.” The hell hound ignored the man, nose hovered over the earth as she tried to search for a scent.[break][break]

It didn’t take long for her to catch something and swiftly, the trainer followed in pursuit. As the pair turned the corner, both set of eyes landed on a fully evolved electric and normal type. Maverick halted in his steps, shooshing Auzla as he got slow to the ground. “Come,” the man whispered to her, “Let’s get out of here before the heliolisk notices us.” It wasn’t that Maverick was worried he was going to lose a fight or that he was scared. It was more or less, that storm had a tight count down on them and he didn’t want to waste time on something he wasn’t interested in. Of course, pass on a fully evolved pokemon like that was upsetting but he just wasn’t interested.[break][break]

After keeping low and out of sight of the wild pokemon appearing to be napping, the trainer motioned for his beloved canine to follow him. And once they were out of harms way, the canine like creature’s nose was too the earth once more. Nostrils flared with the rapid intake and exhale of air. A another round of thunderous thunder echoed through the route, lightning reminding them that they had very little time to mess around. "We need to head for shelter soon. That storm is getting close."

Warm gaze lifted to see the dark storm front, a thunderous boom followed by multiple strikes of lightning reached from the clouds to the earth. The last time he saw a storm this close, he saw Raikou marching proudly in front of it. It made him wonder, does the legendary gods terrine this region too? For a moment, he wondered what his life would have been like if he would have stayed. Maybe one of these days, he could call up Kiara or Vallen to see what its like there now. Then again, if they found out he was alive they would surely tell the boss and he will be killed.[break][break]

With a sigh, Maverick turned to Azula as she let out a dark nasty snarl. His gaze fell upon a zangoose though the wild creature appeared to be running for shelter. It completely ignore them. “That’s probably not a good sign,” the man mumbled to himself though loud enough for his houndoom to hear, “They are normally very territorial.” Another round of loud booms and flashes of light startled him, glancing at the storm once more as a big gust of wind swirled around them. “Let’s keep going,” Mav told her, motioning towards another area he wanted to check out, “That storm is about to hit any moment. I got a bad feeling about it.”

"Shit." It was too late. Heavy rain fall drenched both Maverick and Azula within the matter of seconds as the pair darted towards some kind of shelter. Warm crimson colored orbs flickered to see a herdier too, running for cover. Thinking that maybe the dog like pokemon would know a better place for shelter than him, the trainer motioned for his houndoom to follow as they ran after the normal type creature. And just as he though, the herrder took shelter from the storm in a large hollowed out tree. A flash of bright lightning and a thud of thunder startled him as the two took cover with the canine pokemon. The wild pokemon snarled, ready to attack.[break][break]

“Easy there,” the man put his hands up in peace, “just wanted to get out of the rain. We will leave as soon as it stops.” This however, only made Azula angry. Ebony lips peeled back to reveal her nice set of sharp pearly whites, muscles stiffened and head lowered. The wild pokemon only mirrored her, not willing to back down. “Come on guys. If you want to fight, fight in the rain.” The trainer felt wet to the bone, taking off his jacket to ring out the rain that soaked him. “I don’t know about you two but I don’t want to be out there. Just get along for now and than fight later.” After a few minutes of silents between the two, both turned and gave up. “Cool.” With that, Maverick sat at the very edge of the opening with Azula by his side being sure to give the wild dog spaces. “We will head out as soon as it stops raining.”
